WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE!
The Jim Rome Show airs Monday-Friday, 10am-1pm

Jim Rome Denver Tour Stop Was Huge!
Straight from the horses mouth. Denver, you showed the Rome crew that you had it in you. With 10,000 plus clone representation at the Pepsi Center, Jim Rome was more thrilled with the Mile High turn out. You represented. Thanks to all of the sponsors, local and national for supporting the greatest Tour Stop of 2002.

Jim Rome (a.k.a. Van Smack) is the nation’s top sports personality and legendary host of the Jim Rome Show. His nationally syndicated radio show airs on 130 stations throughout the United States and Canada. Rome’s “tell it like it is” approach has earned him the title of “the King of Smack.” Famous sports figures like Shaquille O’Neal, Mike Piazza, Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Troy Aikman, Evander Holyfield, Don King, Oscar De La Hoya and sportscasters Bob Costas and Al Michaels all have appeared on his show.

Known for his aggressive yet informed approach, one wonders how this undersized, middle-class, high school tennis player standout became the voice in sports radio.

Born and raised in Southern California, Rome loved athletics and competition from the beginning. Rome entered the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he graduated with a B.A. in Communications. After a year in the family business, and odd jobs, Rome couldn’t shake his love for sports and wanting to talk about them for a living. He joined the talk radio world in 1987, doing whatever he had to, to get his voice heard, from being the local traffic reporter to pimping products for the Home Shopping Market on Radio.

From October 1993-95, ESPN hired Rome to work as a talk show host on ESPN 2, as his radio career began to take off. Since then, Rome has been the television host for The FX Sports show on Fox Sports Television, and is currently the television host of The Last Word, on Fox Sports Net. He has released his own CD, “Welcome to the Jungle,” and has his own clothing line, “Jungle Gear,” produced by Logo gear, and sold on the official jimrome.com e-store.

Jim Rome resides in Southern California with his wife Janet.
